Getting Here – By Plane

Cappadocia is serviced by two airports: Nevşehir-Kapadokya (NAV) and Kayseri Erkilet (ASR).  Direct flights operate throughout the year from both airports in Istanbul, and from Izmir.  From Antalya, direct flights generally only operate in the summer.  Flying from any other region of Turkey will normally require a transfer in Istanbul or Izmir.  All flights take between 60-80 minutes.

The airlines which travel to Cappadocia are:

• Turkish Airlines – the national airline servicing both airports.
• Pegasus Airlines  – a reliable, budget airline with domestic and international fights to/from Kayseri, and usually arrive very early or very late in the day.
• Anadolu Jet  – a budget subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, generally only operates in Cappadocia during the high season.
• SunExpress  – offers limited direct flights between Kayseri and Izmir, Antalya

The most practical way to get from the airport to the hotel is to use a shuttle service.  We can organise a shuttle to meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel.  Just send your flight details, including flight number, at least 24 hours before your flight so we can arrange the shuttle service.

• Nevşehir airport (NAV), (40 km, 50-60 minutes)
• Kayseri airport (ASR),  (70 km, (60-75 minutes)

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Current prices for airport transfers (and other helpful planning information) will be sent to you when we receive your reservation.
• Shuttles must be pre-booked.  For security reasons, shuttle drivers are not allowed to  take passengers who are not on their pickup  list.
• There are no local buses available between the airports and direct to Goreme.  Taking a local bus will require 2-3 transfers , will not bring you direct to the hotel, and won’t save you much money. Also, managing luggage on the smaller local buses can be awkward.  And finally, buses to Goreme do not run regularly after sunset.
• Taxis are available from the airport, but like everywhere else in the world, they are a much more expensive option.

If you prefer, we can also arrange private transfers to bring you direct to the hotel.  Private transfers are available 24 hours a day, for both Kayseri and Nevsehir airports.  The drivers will greet you at the arrivals gate with a sign with your name on it before they escort you to your private luxury vehicle.
